Varun Bahar, a Bhojpuri and Hindi singer from Gonda in UP, who recently appeared in the news for his controversial song with the line, 'Jo na bole Jai Shri Ram, unko bhej do kabristan' ('Who does not sing Jai Shri Ram send them to the cemetery ') has been stopped by the UP police. He was sleeping on the terrace of his house in the town of UP, Manakpur, when the police arrived and picked him up at 3:00 am on July 26, "said Varun Bahar's associate.

Sources close to Bahar and his team have told us that not only the singer, but also the writers of the controversial song, Mukul Pandey and Santosh Yadav, as well as the producer of the Janta Musical label, Rajesh Verma, have been arrested by the police .

Sources that are aware of these developments, and who want to remain nameless, have confirmed that the men have been arrested. They will be brought before a magistrate later in the day. Sandeep, meanwhile, said a dark blue car came to pick up Bahar. “The car had no license plate. We also don't know where it is. I went to the Hazratganj police station and the SHO told me that I didn't know anything about the case, ”he said. The song, which was released on July 21, generated widespread criticism, but Bahar was convinced that he had not done "anything bad."

"I have not offended any religion. I did not name any religion, neither Christians nor Muslims. If I love my religion, what is wrong with that?" he said. Bahar said he was threatened by people in India and abroad, and asked for help from the Hindu Yuva Vahini, Bajrang Dal and his "Hindu brothers."

Santosh Yadav, the composer, said: "Ram virodhi tatva hum logo ke peeche hadh dhoke suffers hue hai. Par dharm ke liye humein faasi bhi laga of toh hum kuch nahi bolenge (the elements that are against Lord Ram persecute us. Mi religion, even if they hang me to death, I won't care".  The member of the Congress party, Tehseen Poonawala, is among the people who have complained about the song.
