Anshula Kant from India is MD and World Bank CFO

The World Bank Group announced on Friday that Anshula Kant, an Indian citizen, had been appointed as MD and the next CFO. Ms. Kant will be the first female CFO at the Bank.

"Anshula brings more than 35 years of expertise in finance, banking and the use of innovative technology through his work as CFO of Bank Negara India," World Bank Group President David Malpass said in a statement.

"He excelled in a variety of leadership challenges including risk, treasury, funding, regulatory compliance, and operations. I look forward to welcoming him to our management team as we work to improve our effectiveness in supporting good development outcomes. "

Ms. Kant will be responsible for financial management and risk and report to Mr. Malpass. His assignment will include risk management and financial reporting and he will work with the CEO of the Bank to mobilize financial resources.

Ms. Kant has held an Honors degree in Economics from the Lady Shri Ram College and a postgraduate degree in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics.
