MG Hector has been one of the most exciting performances of 2019. While the SUV was presented in India on May 15, its reservations were opened on June 4 and launch on June 27. With an initial price of Rs 12.18 lakh (ex-showroom, India), MG (Morris Garages) The first Motor product for India is available in the Style, Super, Smart and Sharp variants, and the automaker has declared that the Smart and Sharp models are the most popular with the highest demand.

The new MG Hector is available with gasoline and diesel engine options. There is a turbocharged 1.5-liter gasoline mill that produces 143 PS and 250 Nm of torque. The diesel variant uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine that produces 170 hp and 350 Nm of torque. The gasoline engine also has a hybrid 48 V option with slightly better fuel efficiency. While the company offers a standard 6-speed manual gearbox, the gasoline option (non-hybrid only) also gets a 6-speed DCT. MG Motor announced on June 27 that it had received more than 10,000 reservations for Hector. The figure has surpassed the 21,000 mark now and the company has also begun to deliver the SUV. However, the automaker has "temporarily" closed the SUV's reserves due to an inability to meet such a high initial demand. Earlier this month, it was also reported that there was a seven-month waiting period in selected variants of Hector.

MG Hector challenges people like Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV500, Jeep Compass and Hyundai Crete. In addition, the entry level Hector is cheaper than Harrier, XUV500 and Compass. The next Kia-Seltos will be another great rival. In terms of dimensions, the SUV has the best length in its class and wheelbase of 4,655 mm and 2,750 mm, respectively. While the width is 1,835 mm, the height is 1,760 mm. The starting capacity is 587 liters.
