The all-new Seventh-Generation BMW 3 Series will be launched in India on August 21st. The car made its world debut earlier this year at the 2018 Paris Motor Show, and here is a photo gallery of the car. The new 3 Series will be equipped with gasoline and diesel powertrains, while hybrid and pure electric versions are expected by 2022.

Before its launch in India, the new series 3 has been spied on several occasions in the country. Called G20 internally, the all-new BMW 3 Series is lighter and bigger than the car it replaces. It has an evolutionary design while maintaining the general silhouette of the 3rd. That said, the most important change is the departure of the "devil eyes" headlamps, which were a hallmark of BMW design.

The new BMW 3 Series is based on the CLAR platform, which is also the basis of the 5 and 7 series. The new platform is more rigid and has saved around 55 kg. Inside, the new 3 Series includes a brand new, sleek and unadorned cabin. The instrument panel focuses on the driver and the minimalist design exudes quality. The car boasts a 10.25-inch infotainment system with a new user interface that integrates with BMW Assistant and an AI-based BMW 7.0 operating system.

The BMW 3 Series with Indian specifications should be offered with two gasoline engines and three diesel engines. These will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission that will transmit power to the xDrive system. Internationally, the M340i variant uses a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine that produces a maximum output of 368 horsepower. However, it is unlikely that this engine configuration will reach our shores. The new 3 Series will compete with the Audi A4, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Jaguar XE and Volvo S60.
