Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee was sworn in as the Chief Minister of West Bengal for the third consecutive time. At the Raj Bhavan, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee took her oath of office before Governor Jagdeep Dhankar. However, at the swearing-in ceremony, there was a mild debate between Mamata Banerjee and Jagdeep Dhankhar over the issue of violence.
During the swearing-in ceremony, West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar congratulated Mamata Banerjee on becoming the Chief Minister for the third time and said that our priority should be to end the incidents of this needless violence and I hope that the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Will take immediate steps to restore the system.

Such senseless violence shames democracy. Such collapse of law and order will neither be overlooked nor countenanced.
However, Mamta Banerjee, while replying to the Governor's request, said that till my swearing in, the law and order in the state was with the Election Commission.
