UP District Panchayat Election: A big blow to BJP, SP shows power, defeat BJP in PM’s parliamentary constituency

Nine months before the assembly elections in the state, the ruling party BJP suffered a major setback in the District Panchayat elections. In the elections held in 3050 seats, the BJP has won or won only 543 seats. At the same time, SP is winning or leading in 699 seats. Out of the results of 75 districts, only 13 have reached BJP double figures.

In Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP could win only 7 out of 40 seats and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh's Lucknow constituency out of only 25 seats out of 25. At the same time, 26 seats out of 68 seats in Gorakhpur district of CM Yogi Adityanath could not be got a clear majority. She was reduced to 8 seats in Awedhya. At the same time, in Sonia Gandhi's constituency Rae Bareli, the SP won 12 out of 52 seats, while the Congress-BJP got only 9–9 seats.
