Unnao: BJP clean bold, SP winner in the semi-finals of Assembly elections

The BJP became cleanly bold in the district panchayat election, considered to be the semi-final of the 2022 assembly elections. The SP has emerged as a winner. Kamal has suffered a setback in the BJP stronghold. The SP has run at its old pace. BJP had only eight seats of Zilla Panchayat member.

SP has surprised everyone by securing maximum 19 seats in the district panchayat elections. Encouraged by the results of the panchayat elections, the SP is planning a strategy for the upcoming assembly elections, while holding the chair of the district panchayat president in its old citadel. BJP is also engaged in the churning.

SP had dominated the district in the 2007 and 2012 assembly elections. Of the six assembly seats, five were occupied by the SP and one by the BSP. The saffron wave swept across the district in a wave of change in the 2017 elections. Five of the six were held by the BJP and one by the BSP.
