Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati gets covid vaccine. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader was inoculated at a private hospital in Lucknow on Saturday.
She has put forward an appeal to the centre for providing vaccines free of cost to the poor populations in India. “I appeal the Central and state government to provide free vaccine to the poor. I appeal to everyone to take the vaccine,”

She tweeted following her inoculation, “I have a strong appeal to the people of the country to properly follow the Corona rules and take full advantage of vaccination by not refusing government claims related to vaccines.”
Mayawati served four terms as UP CM between 1995 and 2012. Referred to as ‘behen ji’ (sister) by the Bahujan and other oppressed castes in India, Mayawati is recognised as a significant representation of diversity in politics.
